Conservation of our Photographic Heritage and Ecology

In this interview, Agnès Gall-Ortlik talks about her commitment to an ecologically responsible transformation of practices in the field of heritage conservation and restoration in general, and of photographic collections in particular. The concepts of ecology, sustainable development and de-growth are addressed in relation to current problems regarding photographic heritage conservation, collection storage, exhibition museography, and conservation-restoration materials. The interview also reviews the current state of research into ecoconservation and ecophotography, which are presented here as a responsible and logical development of the discipline in the light of current climate issues.
